Article marketing is my favorite form of lead and subscriber and of course buyer generation. I find that article generated subscribers are a lot more serious about their business than PPC generated subscribers and other forms of advertising.

You see, with article marketing, you are selecting who gets to your web site. Well, actually they are selecting, but because you create the environment, and because on average human beings are consistent, if you create a certain type of environment, you will get a certain type of subscriber.

Think about this. How much more committed will someone be if they have read an entire article of yours, and then decided to click into your web site because they like what you say, versus someone who has just clicked (too quickly, I might add) a PPC link that has 3 lines of script? They are going to be much more highly qualified, that is for sure.

So here are some tips.

1) Write on one topic and one topic alone. Keep the title consistent with the content and keep the content consistent with the squeeze page.

2) Write expecting people to click in. I am not going to go into the psychology of this, but if you write with the attitude that people are going to want to click in from your article, generally your article will be ever so much more persuasive.

3) When people get to your squeeze page, it should be short and to the point. The reason is that they are already sold by the time they get there. Contrast that with PPC, where you probably need a longer squeeze page because they do not really know who you are and so you have to tell them.

How does writing Articles fit into Internet Marketing?

One of the main strategies that I have used when I first started Internet Marketing was writing Articles. In fact this article that you are reading now was created on a Article based web site called EzineArticles.com. There are many pros to writing articles and putting them out online to help you with your Internet Based - Affiliate Marketing.

With the new Web 2.0 and blogging sites popping up all over the internet today, it is quickly becoming the newest wave to hit the world wide web. Like it or not, it is here to stay. What Web 2.0 is all about, is social networking with like minded groups of people. This way people can belong to different blogs or groups that match their interests.

Well if you are good at writing, even the tiniest amount, then writing articles to put on blogs will help you on your marketing efforts. Articles, such as product reviews, specification documents, how-to, etc can all be used in conjunction with blogs and marketing your product or service.

The other great thing about article marketing is that it is free. This is truly a strategy that every beginning internet marketer should be using as it helps get your mindset focused on how to be creative in selling your product or service. The more you do it, the better you get, and ultimately when done right, the more money you will make. This is such a great strategy that everyone from beginners to pros need to be consistent with as you want to market to the pulse of the audience that you are targeting.

Why I recommend also recommend article marketing because you can earn money to fund more advanced strategies like PPC (pay per click). This is a very smart move on your part to do it this way. Too many people try Internet Marketing by using their hard earned dollars first, then jump right in and spend, spend, spend on course that is out there. Tossing money at PPC is also highly risky when you do not know what you are doing. What happens is you get frustrated, broke and give up. Don't let this happen to you. Go the article marketing route, get the pleasure of earning some cash, then use that money to fund your business. It is a win-win at this point. With this kind of competition, how can you ever survive online? Well, you need to explode your article marketing efforts using these 5 rewarding methods:

1. Aside from article submission sites, look for other avenues where you can post your articles. The more exposure you get, the better the chances of your articles being picked up and republished. Post them on your blog, to websites syndicated by Google News, forums, social bookmarking sites, and use them as content when you publish your ezine. You can also compile them to create an ebook which you can use as a viral marketing tool.

2. Your articles must be search-engine friendly. Download keyword suggestion software that you can use to identify the keywords that are highly searched for by your target market. Use these on your content so your articles will match the searches being made by your potential readers.

3. Keep your articles short and sweet. Avoid making your articles lengthy that they become boring to read. Learn how to communicate your ideas in the most straightforward way possible. Strike out too many introductions and offer valuable information upfront.

4. Quality over quantity. People will judge your knowledge, expertise, and credibility based on the quality of your content. Even if you have few articles posted online, you can still make a mark if your contents are useful, well-written, informative, and timely.

5. Be factual. Remember, you write to inform. People who consider you as an expert will listen to your ideas and follow your suggestions. Thus, it is important that you don't mislead them by checking all your data before posting your articles online.

Bum marketing is so called because even a bum can make money using this method. You need no outlay and can start with nothing. Absolutely zilch!

I had absolutely zilch because I had maxed out 7 credit cards. I used to laugh when I read about others doing that with just two, but I did it myself in spades! My only word to you would be very careful how you use PPC programs like Adwords because I wasnt. But thats another story.

I discovered bum marketing because if there is one thing I am good at, it is writing. Bum marketing involves finding a profitable niche, or one that could be profitable. It has to be something with a reasonable large following, and a reasonable number of topics attached to it. Like fly fishing or quilting, or something similar. Something that is followed by people you would expect to have money. You dont want people flinching at paying $97 for a product related to their hobby or interest.

You then have to find some decent keywords. For bum marketing it doesnt matter too much if there is competition for them, but not too general. Not quilting but perhaps hand quilting machines or deep throat quilters. Then get a website set up. You can get a cheap functional site for under $5 a month and then set up a website. A sales page for a product and a few pages with some content. If you can get it, register a domain name that is the same as, or relates to, one of the keywords you have chosen.

Write a few articles on the topic of your website, and use one for each of the web pages. Bum marketing is all about article writing. You should have one web page for each keyword you are using relating to your website. Find a few products to sell. If you have your own then great, but if not sell affiliate products.

Then write a few more articles and submit them to article directories. Each directory will allow you what is known as an Authors Resource Box in which you can say a little about yourself and provide a URL for people to click on for more information. The URL should lead to a page that relates to the topic of the article, and should ideally be a text link with the keyword or phrase that is the title of your web page. The text link should be hyperlinked to the page; what is termed an active link.

If the directory does not specifically provide a Resource Box, you can add that information after your article. It has to be included and will go with your article whenever it is copied and used. The article will not only bring you traffic, but also valuable links back to your web pages.

It is important that you continue to write and keep pumping out new articles. I like to write two every week and send them off to the top 25 directories. Thats all I have to do because most of the top 25 provide material to other directories, and before you know it your articles are all over the internet. Thats bum marketing.

As I said, even a bum with no money can do it. I know, because I was that bum at one time. I am no longer!

One of the best ways to do so is by using attention-grabbing titles that appeal to your target market. Learn how to trigger their emotions, pique their curiosity, or even apply exaggeration to get them to click on your articles.

2. Deliver quality, complete information. Nothing can make an article more impressive than filling it with relevant, detailed content because after all, online users are reading articles just to be informed. Carefully select all the information that play crucial roles in your topic and present them in a logical manner to promote better understanding.

3. Write more. In article marketing, the more articles you write and submit, the more quality inbound links you can obtain for your website. Strive to multiply the number of your articles by either writing content that you are very familiar with or writing short articles.

4. Use simple words. Remember, you are not writing for encyclopedias or running towards getting a Pulitzer award. In writing your articles, it is better that you focus your energy on making your readers understand your ideas than trying to impress them with the use of big words.

5. Your ideas should be related to your main topic. Avoid discussing ideas that are not related on your topic to avoid annoying your readers.

Both traffic and lists are made up of individual people with heads and hearts. Answer their questions. Ask them questions. Take great care of them and they will take great care of you.
